ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man with a hatred for the government and who was caught with explosives is out of jail.

Tod Bartels was sentenced yesterday to time served after pleading guilty in April to a charge of having a blasting cap without a license.

In 2013 New Mexico State Police searched his RV in Reserve where they found drawings and weapons.

Bartels was building trip wire bombs, improvised explosive devices and even a rocket launcher.

He was thinking of ways to take down a helicopter and an Osprey military aircraft.
