Artesia Police name suspect in student killing


ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) – Artesia Police have named a suspect in last month’s murder of an New Mexico State University student.

Police say 20-year-old Daniel Aguilera shot and killed Andres Rojo and wounded another person.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours of July 5th on the 1400 block of Yucca Avenue.

NMSU officials say Rojo was close to earning his degree.
