Calvary Church evacuated after receiving suspicious package

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Calvary Church in northeast Albuquerque was evacuated after receiving a suspicious package, police say.

Sunday afternoon, police were called out after a package was delivered to the church. Authorities had  the property closed off for a couple hours while the bomb squad inspected the package.

The bomb squad determined the package was legitimately delivered to the church and contained no suspicious contents. In fact, APD says the package contained books.

The evacuation has been lifted and the church is reopened.
