Summer might be ending, but swimming is not

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- With the new school year fast approaching, it may seem as though all of the summer fun is coming to a close, but that is not true.

The City of Albuquerque is still holding programs at their public pools and the outdoor pools are open for until Sunday, August 9.

As for when the school time starts, there are five indoor facilities that will be hosting tons of programs.

Some of these programs include, swimming lessons, lap swims, and recreation swims throughout the evenings.

As for the staff, they are ready for whatever may arise. Proper lifeguard training has been stressed and with a few unfortunate incidents, each lifeguard on duty was able to help each victim successfully.

The Aquatics division and lifeguard staff at the Rio Grande Pool joined KRQE’s This Morning to demonstrate some of the training they have learned, watch above.
