Hobbs police warn residents about scam

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – A person in Hobbs is calling people saying they’re from the police department and collecting money for body cameras and protective vests. They ask for a check or credit and debit card. They appear to be targeting senior citizens. Police say they will never call and solicit donations from residents.

Carlsbad area residents see positive results in new water project

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports the one million dollar water system in Otis has been turned on. The storage tank can hold up to 500,000 gallons of water. It is serving 1,700 residents. The old one only served 300 residents.
