ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – David Gallegos works as a nutrition driver for the Department of Senior Affairs. While making a delivery to the Alameda Community Center he noticed a frantic woman in the parking lot.
She had accidentally locked her three-year-old granddaughter inside her car.
“I told her I was going to bust the window if I had to. The little girl looked fine. She wasn’t sweating or anything,” said Gallegos.
Gallegos pried the car door open with a screwdriver and a block of wood. He then snagged the car keys with a hanger and freed the child.
Gallegos was named employee of the week in 2012 for rescuing a woman that had fallen in her home.
