New golf cart allows those with disabilities to play

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It’s a golf cart, but it’s not your typical sport vehicle we are all use to.

The Department of Parks and Recreation is now offering a single rider golf cart. Not too many people know about these, but they are offered to those with disabilities.

Those who enjoy a day on the course, but usually need assistance, now have easier access with this new cart.

The single rider cart offers the capabilities to stay in the driver’s seat while playing golf. This is due to the swivel of the chair and the fact that the player can remain buckled in. The chair is ADA complaint and they can go wherever with it on the property.

Golf Pro, Todd Kersting, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the new golf cart along with the opening of the new lighted golf range that stays open until 10 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
