ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Pitcher and third baseman Nathaniel Garley dominated New Mexico High School baseball last season. The Eldorado High product has decided to stay in state as he starts his college career. Garley has verbally committed to the University of New Mexico.
“Me growing up a hometown kid that is just really important to me right now,” said Garley.
Garley the Eldorado Eagles to a Class 6A Championship this past season. On the mound he had a very impressive .080 ERA. Garley posted a 7 and 1 record. He also batted .429 for the Eagles. All of his work did not go unnoticed. Garley has been invited to play in the Area Code Games in Long Beach, California in August.
The games feature some of the best players in the country. Garley is on the games Cincinnati Reds roster.
“That’s the special thing about going to the Area Codes is because I can represent New Mexico and show them that there is talent in New Mexico,” said Garley.
The Area Code Games run from August 4th to the 11th.
