Woman found with heroin at bus station pleads to drug charge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A woman who was found to have more than two pounds of heroin in her possession while at an Albuquerque bus station has pleaded guilty to a drug charge.

Rose Esmerelda Balderrama-Mendivil, 39, admitted in her plea agreement Thursday that she brought drugs to the bus station on March 31 and intended to give them to another person.

She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess heroin with intent to distribute.

Balderrama-Mendivil is a citizen of Mexico but had been living in Nogales, Arizona.

She will be deported after she completes her sentence.

No sentencing date has yet been set.
