BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico mother says she was told to stop breastfeeding her son in public and other mothers are mad.

They staged a planned public breast feeding Wednesday at the Bloomfield Aquatic Center where it happened.

According to the Farmington Daily Times, Kara Marshall was told by a lifeguard she needed to get out of the pool and cover up because it wasn’t allowed.

However, breastfeeding is allowed and now the director of the Bloomfield Aquatic Center is apologizing for the incident. He says he will make it a point to inform all of his employees of the pool’s policies in the future.
