Theater Thursday: ‘The Real Thing’

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It’s Theater Thursday and we sat down with the lead actors in the Vortex Theatre’s latest production, The Real Thing. The play focuses on the relationship between playwright Henry and actress Annie. Annie is also part of a committee to free Brodie, a Scottish soldier imprisoned for burning a memorial wreath during a protest. Henry and Annie are in love, although Henry is married. Annie wants him to “fix” a badly-written play by Brodie. When he protests, Henry’s view of love and fidelity are tested as surely as his writing skills. Packed with wit, ideas and feeling, you won’t want to miss The Real Thing.

It will be on stage at the Vortex, 2900 Carlisle Blvd. NE, July 24 – August 16. Ticket prices are $22, $15 for students. Visit http://www.vortexabq.org to get your tickets and more information.
