Albuquerque man sentenced in vehicular homicide case

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man will spend five years in prison for a crash that killed his friend.

A judge sentenced Christian Diaz on Thursday for vehicular homicide. He was facing 9 years.

In 2013, Diaz was speeding on Rio Bravo near Coors, when he drove into oncoming traffic, and collided with an SUV. His passenger, 18-year-old Ashley Gamez, was killed.  Ashley was a senior at Highland High School.
