National Ice Cream Day celebrated on Sunday

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – This year’s National Ice Cream day is being celebrated on Sunday, July 19.

To celebrate, retailers are offering some national deals for ice cream lovers. Cold Stone Creamery is promoting a buy-one, get-one deal for “My Cold Stone Club” members. Baskin-Robbins is offering a free waffle cone upgrade on a double scoop cone.


Ice cream fun facts according to The Fiscal Times:

  • President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month in 1984. He also declared that every third Sunday of the month is National Ice Cream Day.
  • California, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Texas and New York consume the most ice cream.
  • 10.3 percent of all milk produced by America’s dairy farmers is for making ice cream.
