Mariachi Spectacular coming to Albuquerque this weekend

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – For a number of years, Mariachi Music has been celebrated in Albuquerque with the annual Mariachi Spectacular. The entire weekend consists of workshops and various activities involving the traditional musical art form and culminates with a grand concert at Sandia Casino.

The early part of the festivities begin on Thursday evening with students, who are studying and learning to play Mariachi Music, performing at Hodgin Hall on the University of New Mexico campus. There will also be a talk given on the history of Mariachi by recognized historian Jonathan Clark.
