Chris’ Thursday Afternoon Forecast

It’s going to be another day with scattered storms across much of New Mexico.   Right now, showers are focused over western New Mexico with some stronger storms firing where there is more sunshine in the southwest.   Strong to severe storms will also be possible in the Eastern Plains for areas like Roswell, Carlsbad, and Hobbs.   The storms that fire there later today could produce strong wind and large hail later this afternoon.   So remember to get inside and stay away from windows if you find yourself under a thunderstorm and watch out for water covered roads.  Storms will redevelop again on Friday and Saturday, but it won’t be as widespread as we head into the weekend.   An area of high pressure will eventually start to heat things back up and dry us out as we head into next week.
