Mark’s Wednesday Evening Weather Report

Holiday Storms?

Moisture continues to march into New Mexico Wednesday evening and will lead to more thunderstorms through the holiday weekend. The chance for showers in the Albuquerque metro area will jump up Wednesday night and continue through Thursday. The storms will move quite slowly so there is a flash flood threat in many areas of northern and central New Mexico. The area most likely to flood will be the northern mountains because of recent rain and more expected rain on the way.

Showers and storms will redevelop on Friday and continue on the Fourth of July. We will have the same issues meaning that the slow-moving storms could lead to flooding. Fewer storms are expected by Sunday but don’t get too comfortable.  Additional storms will fire up to start the work week.
