Largest mural in Albuquerque underway

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The outline of what will be the biggest mural in the city is finished.

The mural at Washington Middle School near the Huning Castle Neighborhood was peeling, cracking and fading. Parents asked the school if it could be re-painted and that has finally happened.

Organizers say it’s been a long process of fundraising, planning and painting and the unveiling of the first half takes place next month.

Students at the school have gotten together with the non-profit “Working Classroom” to make a documentary on the mural.
