ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say they have found the missing 10-year-old Albuquerque girl who vanished Monday night.

Police say Mercedes Talamante left her home on Rhode Island near Central on her own.

Mercedes Talamante’s mother says that she and her daughter had an argument Monday night after she found out she hadn’t done her chores. She then went to put the baby to bed. She heard Mercedes call her and she said she would be there in a minute. By the time she went to the living room, Mercedes was gone.

Neighbors say they saw Mercedes leave her home near Central and Rhode Island.

She was found safe Tuesday afternoon.

Police say due to the sensitive nature of cases involving juveniles, additional information will not be released at this time. Her mother told KRQE News 13 she was with a family member, but doesn’t have a lot of details yet.
