ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As a new promotion by the Solid Waste Department to promote recycling, people are now encouraged to recycle two more pounds of items each week.

The city says this will help them achieve their goal of 3,200 tons each month.

They say to look for items beyond the kitchen.

“We encourage them to look in other rooms in their house to accomplish that. Look in your bathrooms, your home offices, your laundry room and sometimes even in your garage for extra items,” said Bobby Sisneros, Solid Waste Department. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
