ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Summer is here, which means many families are heading to local playgrounds. Some parents might not be aware of common injuries children can sustain at playgrounds, however. Albuquerque is expecting high temperatures in the 90s throughout the summer, posing the potential risk of children burning themselves on outdoor play equipment.
Pediatricians at ABQ Health Partners urge parents to be aware of this and other potential risks on playgrounds, including scrapes and falls. Dr. John Good shared with us some tips on how parents can make sure their kids are staying safe and injury-free this summer while outdoors. He also provides other good precautions to take when families head outdoors. He also gives good insight into how you can seek medical help and services if your child faces any of these injuries.
