A brief drying trend will set up across the state Tuesday and Wednesday with high-pressure dragging in dry air. The chance for storms will be limited to the highest terrain of the northern mountains. By Thursday a back door cold front slides in and brings more moisture. That moisture will be converted into thunderstorms late Thursday and Friday. The storms could well fire off the mountains and work toward the Albuquerque Metro area.
