SWAT situation resolved after man threatens mother with gun

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police were on the scene at a northeast Albuquerque home after receiving calls about an armed man.

Police say Michael Layman, 31, threatened his mother with a gun on the 3200 block of Judy Pl. They say the mom was able to evacuate the scene but Layman refused to leave. After authorities negotiated with the suspect, he exited the home and cooperated with police.

The roads are now reopen.
