Suspect arrested for 2011 Albuquerque murder case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Authorities say a suspect wanted in connection with a 2011 murder in Albuquerque has been taken into custody in Mexico.

U.S. Marshals Service officials say 29-year-old Andres Bermudez was arrested Tuesday and will be extradited to New Mexico to face a murder charge.

The agency did not give further details of the arrest.

Albuquerque police allege that Bermudez killed his friend in December 2011.

They say Bermudez and Danny Herrera were at the victim’s apartment having a pre-New Year’s Eve celebration when Bermudez stabbed him multiple times with a steak knife.

Bermudez then allegedly fled the scene.
