ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man was caught on a surveillance video robbing an Albuquerque motel at gunpoint and he’s still on the loose.

The surveillance video shows a man entering a southeast Albuquerque motel late Sunday night. He demanded money while pointing a silver handgun at the clerk.

The man was last seen wearing a gray hat, a blue shirt and black pants. He man stands approximately 5 foot 10 inches and appears to be between 24 to 26-years-old.

Police won’t release the name of the motel and they do not have any information on what kind of vehicle he is driving or what direction he traveled in.

This robbery comes on the heels of six other motel and hotel robberies where police arrested Michael Estrada and Juan Quinones.

APD says they believe motels and hotels are robbed frequently and at night because robbers believe the lobby will be clear with only one employee working.
