Hearing for former Albuquerque police officer continues

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The hearing for the Albuquerque Police Department officer let go for not turning on his lapel camera is expected to continue. Jeremy Dear is accused of not recording the deadly shooting of Mary Hawkes.

He says his camera malfunctioned. That’s when APD launched an investigation and fired him for not logging enough of his lapel camera videos. But the former officer isn’t backing down.

Dear says APD made him a scapegoat.
