Hobbs police look for man accused of attacking, nearly killing girlfriend

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – Police in Hobbs are looking for the man they say nearly killed his girlfriend.

Sunday morning officers responded to the 300 block of West Llano and found 29-year-old Ana Torres bleeding after being stabbed multiple times. Investigators found out Torres and 27-year-old Alonzo Gonzalez got in an argument and he started stabbing her while she was driving. He then got out of the car and fled.

Torres is in stable condition at a hospital in Lubbock.

Police say they located the maroon Chevy Cobalt they believed Gonzalez was driving. However, officials have not located Gonzalez.

Authorities are asking the public to contact them at (575) 397-9275 or (575) 393-8005 with any information on the case.
