BCSO gets new undersheriff

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Bernalillo County has a new undersheriff.

Greg Rees was sworn in Monday morning by a district court judge.

“I appreciate Sheriff Gonzales for having the confidence and for me to get this job done.  We are in different times of policing and I appreciate his confidence in me in getting his vision done,” said Rees.

Rees has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He started his career with BCSO back in 1993 and was promoted to chief deputy in 2013.

He replaces Larry Allen who resigned as undersheriff after just a few of months on the job. The department did not say why.
