Albuquerque woman out of jail after hit and run

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman is out of jail just days after police say she hit a man crossing the street, then drove off.

It happened Saturday night when 23-year-old Jessica Lucero allegedly hit a man crossing Coors at Avalon road.

She took off from the scene, but stopped nearby. A Good Samaritan who stopped to check on her realized she had just been involved in a crash. He gave police her license plate info and they were able to track her down.

The victim who’s fighting for his life is suffering from brain and liver injuries.

Lucero is facing several charges including vehicular homicide. She’s set to appear in court Tuesday.
