Former sheriff, Tommy Rodella, stripped of officer certification

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former Rio Arriba County Sheriff, who ended up on the other side of the law, can no longer be an officer in New Mexico.

The state law enforcement academy board voted to strip Tommy Rodella of his officer certification Tuesday.

Rodella is currently serving 10 years in a Texas federal prison for violating a man’s civil rights during an off duty traffic stop.
