CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Two Hobbs teens are recovering after being hit by a drunk driver.

Police say on Sunday, Gypsy Homer and Osbaldo Trevizo were driving on US Highway 285 between Carlsbad and Artesia when a 37-year-old man slammed into their car.

Homer tells the Hobbs News-Sun the suspect was speeding and didn’t have his lights on.

Trevizo is still in critical condition at a Lubbock Hospital. Homer suffered a cut to her head and had to have 13 staples.
