New Mexico jazz workshop hosts summer concert series

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Join the New Mexico Jazz Workshop this summer for fun and music during their summer concert series.

This 20-concert live music series will include salsa, jazz, blues & “something new” Under the Stars at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater. Concerts run Friday and Saturday nights through the summer except for 4th of July weekend and July 18th. Outstanding local and national artists will be performing in this community favorite concert-series that’s been going for more than 20 years. National artists and bands will include: Calixto Oviedo’s Latin Train (salsa), John Proux (jazz), Lao Tizer Trio (jazz), and the Latin All-Stars Orchestra (salsa). Specialty performances include a Juneteenth Freedom Concert, curated by Cathryn McGill, on June 20th; Ladies & Gents Singin’ & Swingin’ in the Jazz Club on August 1st featuring Entourage Jazz and special artists Helene Yvonne, Carloa Van Blake, Marietta Benevento, Michael Anthony & JQ Whitcomb; and Ladies Sing the Blues: The Many Faces of the Blues on August 14th featuring Joanie Cere, Tracey Whitney, Patti Littlefield, Wendy Beach and special guest Michael Herndon.

Concert prices range from $12-$16, depending on concert and age. Kids 12 + under are always free with adult admission.
