ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say they’ve nabbed a woman who caused a lot of headache for a lot of people. She was busted while using a stolen credit card.
She’s just 23 years old but Jacquelyn Burke has already found herself in quite a bit of trouble. According to the Albuquerque Police Department Burke is behind a rash of auto burglaries in northwest Albuquerque in the Ventana Ranch area.
While at a Rio Rancho Walmart detectives learned she was using a stolen credit card. After that police say they went to her car in the parking lot, sealed it and got a search warrant. They were also able to get a warrant for her home.
From there the puzzle pieces came together.
Police say they found a handful of driver’s licenses, credit cards, check books, laptops and iPhones and they weren’t hers.
Detectives were able to get in touch with the victims and get some of that stuff back to the rightful owners. Burke is looking at a dozen counts of identity theft. She’s also charged in five car break-ins, residential burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card.
