ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Cheesecake Factory has applied for a permit to build in Albuquerque.

Speculation about its arrival have been swirling since Dee’s Cheesecake Factory shut down last year. Dee’s owners said their closure would end the trademark battle that had kept the bigger California based franchise from moving in.

The Cheesecake Factory, which sells cheesecake and has an extensive food menu, has applied for a permit to build a 12,000 square-foot building at Coronado Center.

They want to build onto the mall’s south side near the new H&M, taking up part of that parking lot.
