2-year-old Roswell boy dies after being run over by car

New Mexico State Police

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The Roswell Daily Record has confirmed a 2-year-old boy is dead after being run over.

Officials say it happened at Bottomless Lakes State Park at about 5:30 Tuesday night.

Authorities say a 15-year-old girl was leaving the park in a silver SUV when she hit the boy.

New Mexico State Police Captain Lance Bateman said emergency crews were on the scene and tried to revive the boy.

Police say citations are pending given the 15-year-old does not have license.

Police also say drugs and alcohol do not seem to be a factor and they are considering the incident an accident.
