Rate increase coming for White Sands National Monument

LAS CRUCES (KRQE) – It’s going to cost more to visit White Sands National Monument soon.

Starting October 1st, visitors will pay $5 for a week long pass. That’s up $2. Annual passes to the park will increase to $30, up from $20. Kids 15 years old and under are still free.

Park officials say the price hike is necessary to fund maintenance, visitor services, and projects within the monument.
