Man accused of stabbing sister to death faces judge

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man accused of stabbing his sister to death was in court on Friday.

21-year-old Joseph Valverde admitted to stabbing 18-year-old Maylene Ybarra with a kitchen knife at their home near 98th and Central.

Police say Valverde told them he did it because she kept yelling at him. Valverde has a history of mental health problems and a violent history with other family members.
