Local vendors support the community at the Downtown Growers Market

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Downtown Growers Market takes place every Saturday from 8am to noon at Robinson Park at 8th and Central Ave.

Each week the market features live bands, community nonprofits, a bike valet service, and lots of community spirit.

This morning we met a few of the local vendors you can see down there just about every weekend.

Fathers Building Futures, in partnership with PB&J whose mission is to help at-risk children to grow and develop to their full potential in nurturing families within a supportive community, talked about their work with the community doing auto detailing, custom woodworking and graffiti power washing. We also met with What The Fudge, a community-based fundraising service who help non-profits meet their fundraising goals.

The market provides a space for many like those who joined KRQE’s This Morning team who help the community.

They are home to over 45 New Mexican growers offering high quality produce, along with a wide array of talented local artists and a delicious mix of prepared food artisans.
