Chris’ Friday Night Forecast

Severe storm threat for southeast New Mexico appears to be diminishing tonight.  But, there’s still a chance for some storms to become strong to severe with isolated flash flooding possible in eastern New Mexico overnight.   Flash Flood Watches have been posted for folks who live in Santa Rosa, Tucumcari, Roswell, Carlsbad, Lovington and Hobbs for late tonight into Saturday.   Drier air then works in to much of the state for Saturday with a chance for showers limited to the Four Corners Saturday night.   There is chance for some showers over the north and in southern Colorado for Sunday with a spot shower also possible in Albuquerque along with Santa Fe.  It won’t be a complete wash out this weekend, but know there will be a chance for off & on rain in parts of the state when heading out to celebrate Memorial Day.  Stay with KRQE for more weather updates. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
