Treasure hunt event comes to New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The promise of buried gold has lured thousands of treasure hunters to New Mexico and now there is an event to unite them on their pursuit.

New Mexico native Forrest Fenn claims he’s hidden gems and gold worth $2 million buried possibly in New Mexico. Fenn has periodically been releasing clues about where that treasure could be hidden.

The New Mexico Tourism Department has announced an event called “Fennboree” where treasure hunters can come together to talk past hunts, strategy, and collaborate for this treasure hunt. It’s this Friday, May 22, through Sunday, May 24, at the Rio Chama campground.
