ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police officers are preparing their ticket pads this Memorial Day weekend. It is one of the busiest holidays of the year for travelers and law enforcement agencies.
Monday state officials issued a stern warning, Click It or Ticket. They say these crackdowns help bring attention to the one device proven to save lives on the road.
“It’s a very simple act of putting your seat belt on that is going to save you a lot of pain and suffering if you do get into a crash,” Chief Pete Kassetas said. “That’s what I want to emphasize here, I want to be out of business of issuing tickets.”
