(KRQE) – Emergency crews have reopened a southwest neighborhood after it was evacuated due to a gas leak in the area.

Bernalillo County Sheriffs Deputies  had Bridge closed between Old Coors and Atrisco for hours while they tried to cap the leak. They also evacuated several homes in the area.

Fire crews say the gas leak was caused by a car crash that struck a gas line. Deputies say one person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

New Mexico Gas Company responded and capped the leak.
