Downtown Growers Market

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Downtown Growers Market takes place every Saturday from 8am to noon at Robinson Park at 8th and Central Ave. Every week they feature a live band, community nonprofits, a bike valet service, and lots of community spirit.

This morning we met a few of the local vendors you can see down there just about every weekend. Autumn Pearson, an artist who has her own gallery called The Church; the market is the perfect venue and outlet for her to meet new people who appreciate art the way she does. We also met Brad Lee, a marketing director for La Plazita Institute. It’s not just a farm, it’s also a nonprofit organization that engages the youth and other community members. Finally, we cooked a little with chef and owner of Senor Tortas, Victor Castillo. He is at the market every weekend with his signature tacos; you can also catch him at the Wednesday markets at Civic Plaza.
