Former Albuquerque Police Department officer files whistleblower lawsuit

Albuquerque Police Department

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former Albuquerque officer filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the department for emotional pain and suffering.

Officer John Corvino trained Albuquerque Police Department cadets and officers. He claims in 2013, then- training director Joe Wolf and others in charge would bring in outside instructors, who were not certified for police training.

Joe Wolf resigned in February. According to APD, Wolf resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Corvino says he spoke up because it was against the rules and APD retaliated against him. He says Chief Gorden Eden even suspended him without pay for insubordination.
