Chris’ Thursday Afternoon Forecast

We are in for a warmer day, but there’s still a chance for storms in parts of New Mexico later this afternoon.   The northern mountains and far eastern New Mexico will have the best shot for seeing some more storms pop up later today.  Most of us will enjoy more sunshine and warmer temperatures.   Another storm system will start to impact the area as we head into the weekend.   At this point, it looks like a bulk of the moisture will stay farther to the north.   But, northern New Mexico will have a good shot for hit and miss showers along with the chance for high mountain snow above 9,000 feet.   That is where a couple of inches of snow could fall by the end of the weekend.   Rain and thunderstorm chances could return for much of New Mexico by the middle of next week.
