ABQ BioPark Zoo host 42nd Mother’s Day Concert

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There are many ways to tell your mother “thank you,” this year for Mother’s Day, but how a two for one?

The ABQ BioPark Zoo is hosting a concert that will also feature hands on zoo mom’s discovery station and special activities to benefit the Missing Orangutan Mothers Program.

The Philharmonic will be performing their traditional concert Sunday, May 14 at 2 p.m.

Enjoy a picnic in the park while experiencing the 42nd Annual Mother’s Day Concert.

The concert will begin with a short feature of the Young Musician Initiative, and students from Dolores Gonzales Elementary and Reginald Chavez Elementary will play and sing for audiences.

Hear the orchestra play classics such as Festive Overture, The Waltz from Swan Lake, and Bugle’s Holiday.

Lawn seating is available and a variety of food and drink will be available for purchase.

Guests are welcome to bring blankets, picnics and lawn chairs, but please no glass containers or alcohol of any kind.

A free park-and-ride service will be provided from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking will be available at the Aquarium/Botanic Garden lot on Central and New York Streets.
