Man arrested for robbing two University of New Mexico students

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police arrested a man who robbed a University of New Mexico student and his girlfriend at gunpoint.

It happened near the Casa Del Rio dorms in early April.

Police say 23-year-old, Nazim Aykor, followed the two in an SUV, jumped out and pointed a gun at the man’s chest telling him to hand over everything.

After getting a wallet and cell, phone Aykor took off. APD says they were able to track him down through the victim’s credit cards.

He was using it to buy cigarettes at a Circle K and cops arrested him yesterday.

Aykor is now facing armed robbery and fraud charges. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
