National Bike Month kicks off for May

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque is quickly becoming known as a bike friendly city. There’s no better time to recognize all of this than now during the month of May, also known as National Bike Month.

Across the country, the National Bike Challenge starts on May 1. According to organizers, this is a nation wide event bringing together thousands of current bicyclists along with encouraging new riders to become involved in the sport. To monitor the local challenge, you can check out the National Bike Challenge website. This challenge lasts until September 30.

Coming up on May 15, it will be Bike To Work day in the City of Albuquerque. Organizers from the city and Bike ABQ are encouraging as many commuters as possible to travel into their jobs on bicycles.
