Death of Roswell businessman solved

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The investigation into the death of a well-known Roswell businessman is over.

42-year-old David Duer was found unresponsive in his home in November. Duer died a short time later.

Police were looking at a person of interest in the case, 27-year-old Justin Mendenhall, who was in Duer’s home the night before for a party. Police now say Duer died as a result of alcohol and health issues.

Mendenhall was arrested on a warrant in a separate fraud case.

Police say no criminal charges will be filed in Duer’s death. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
