HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – The housing crisis in Hobbs caused by the oil boom is getting the attention of the city.
The surge of workers to the area has driven rent prices up and many workers have no choice but to live in hotels and motels. As a result, there’s been an effort to build more homes and apartments. However, results have been slow to materialize.
The city of Hobbs is now conducting a housing survey. They’re asking all residents to share their thoughts.
