Gathering of Nations begins Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – For the past 32 years there has been an event where Native Americans can join together each year to celebrate and share their culture.

The Gathering of Nations is a huge international event where people from all across the world travel to Albuquerque to be a part of the giant powwow.

This all begins Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m. in the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Miss Indian World Talent Presentations will last until 8 p.m.

The following day, Friday, April 24 is jammed packed with performances at the WisePies Arena, such as the grand entrance of dances, competition drum and dancing contests, giveaways, gourd dancing, and flag and victory dances.

There will be a Midnight special contest, World Invitation Hoop Dance.

The Last day, Saturday, April 25, doors open at 10 a.m.
